So here we are... just over 24 hours away from making the 5-hour flight to Hawaii. Now don't get me wrong, I am CERTAINLY not complaining about vacation or where we're going. But certainly, Julie and I are nervous. How is Gracie, our extremely mobile child, going to handle being immobile for a long period of time. Now, we've got the basics... new toys she hasn't seen, candy/snacks, etc. And we are hoping since the flight is at 6 PM, she'll go to sleep around 8:30 or 9 PM (the latest she ever goes to bed)... but we'll just have to see.
All we're doing is praying about it, and hoping for the best. And maybe slipping her Benadryl if needed like the pediatrician told us to.

You should be more worried about the fact she is going to sleep the whole flight and then be wide awake that night when you want to go to sleep. That is usually how it works out. She will do great. My boys usually fell asleep right after takeoff. Something about the sound of the engines.
